Anniversary Calculator

This tool can be used as a wedding anniversary calculator, determining your next marriage anniversary, the duration of your marriage in years, months, days, hours, minutes, seconds, and offering gift suggestions based on traditional customs and modern trends. It can also function as a relationship anniversary calculator, work anniversary calculator, or for other significant life events, calculating the time elapsed since the event and the date of your next anniversary.

How to use and Features of Anniversary Calculator

This tool is super easy to use and perfect for keeping track of special dates! First, pick what kind of anniversary you want to check:

    • Wedding Anniversary: Find out when the next anniversary is for your marriage, your parents’, or a friend’s, plus how many days are left until it. It also shows how long the marriage has been in years, months, days. hours, minutes and seconds .
    • Relationship Anniversary: See when a couple’s next anniversary is and how long they’ve been together.
    • Other Anniversaries: Celebrate things like your graduation, work anniversary, or when a company started.

Then, type/select date the event happened—like your wedding day, when you started dating, began a job, or got your diploma. If you’re unsure of the exact day, just put in the month and year with “1” for the day. This gives you a close-enough result, though it might be off by up to a month.

Hit “Calculate,” and the tool will tell you how long it’s been (like “10 years, 3 months, and 25 days”) and break it down into years, months, weeks, days. hours, minutes and seconds. It’ll also let you know which anniversary is coming up (1st, 5th, 25th, etc.), the exact date, and how many days are left. If it’s a wedding anniversary, it’ll even suggest cool gift ideas based on classic and modern traditions!

How many years have I been married?

Anniversary math is fairly easy when it comes to just years. Figuring out how many years a couple has been married or together is pretty simple. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Remember the year they got married or started their relationship, like 2005.
    2. Take the current year, say 2025, and subtract the starting year: 2025 – 2005 = 20.
    3. If their anniversary date has already happened this year, add 1 to the result.

If you want to get the current year the marriage or relationship is in, add 1 (again, if you’ve already done so in step 3). Voila!

How long have I been married in years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds?

Calculating just the years of a marriage or relationship is super simple. Figuring out the exact years, months, and days is also pretty doable. But if you want to know the total months, weeks, days, hours, minutes or seconds things can get tricky with all the math, especially because of leap years. A much easier way is to use our anniversary calculator in “wedding anniversary” mode.

You can use the same idea to figure out how long you’ve been with some one as a partner or friend. Questions like “how long have we been together?” can be answered easily with some basic calendar math.

    Notes:

    • For the 14th anniversary, ivory is the traditional gift, but due to ethical concerns, it is often substituted with alternatives like gold jewelry or opal in modern practice.
    • For years not listed (e.g., 16th–19th, 21st–24th, etc.), specific traditional and modern gifts are not universally assigned, and couples often choose gifts based on personal preference.
    • The 65th and 70th anniversaries may vary in some sources, but Blue Sapphire and Platinum are commonly accepted for these milestones.
